How To Post Work On PYH
You can post your work in the Original Works section (found here: postyourheart.proboards.com/forum#category-19) or in your own gallery space (found here: postyourheart.proboards.com/board/113/create-own-gallery-space). When you post work to PYH, place the copyright symbol and your name directly underneath the title of your work. The sections below will explain how to post each type of creative work on the website.
You may also post your art pieces to the official Post Your heART Facebook Group. The link to the Facebook group can be found here: www.facebook.com/groups/PostYourheART/
Writing Example:
The Last Of The Best <--- The Title of the piece.
© Emma Lee Downs <--- name with the copyright symbol.
* A description of the text.
* Chapter One: The First Thing <--- Name of the first chapter (only if it is more than one chapter).
* Your body text underneath.
* Note: Multiple chapters are posted as replies to the first chapter or parent post. The top of each chapter MUST contain the story title, the copyright information, and a description of the text. All posts should have the "sticky" box checked to ensure that comments made to the original posts will not disrupt the placement of the original text on the board.
Multiple Chapter Writing Example:
The Last Of The Best <--- The Title of the piece.
© Emma Lee Downs <--- name with the copyright symbol.
* A description of the text.
* Chapter Two: The Next Best Thing <--- Next chapter title.
* Your body text underneath.
* Note: Multiple chapters should be posted as replies to the previous chapter. In other words, post chapter two as a reply to chapter one, post chapter three as a reply to chapter two, and so on. All posts should have the "sticky" box checked to ensure that comments made to the original posts will not disrupt the placement of the original text on the board.
Posting A Link To A Story:
To Catch a Falling Star <--- The Title of the piece.
© Emma Lee Downs <--- name with the copyright symbol.
* A description of the piece.
* A link to the piece.
Link: www.fictionpress.com/s/1976030/1/To-Catch-a-Falling-Star
* Note: Multiple chapters are posted as replies to the first chapter or parent post. The top of each chapter MUST contain the story title, the copyright information, and a description of the text. All posts should have the "sticky" box checked to ensure that comments made to the original posts will not disrupt the placement of the original text on the board.
Art Example:
Fooflahs <--- The Title of the piece.
© Emma Lee Downs <--- name with the copyright symbol.
* A description of the image.
* A link to the image.
Example One: [im(g)]Image Link Goes Here[/im(g)]
- Note: Take the parentheses off of the (g) in img so it reads img instead. The parentheses were added to the code so it would show up in the post.
Example Two: No code, just link.
Link: lyraalluse.deviantart.com/art/Fooflahs-361851528
- Note: When in doubt you can always just post the link to the image. If you have any questions about how to get your image to appear on the forum let the website admin lyraalluse know by sending her a private message.
*Note: This applies to photography, pictures of costumes, and anything that relates to an uploaded picture file. All posts should have the "sticky" box checked to ensure that comments made to the original posts will not disrupt the placement of the image files on the board.
Music Example:
Dream A Dream <--- The Title of the piece.
© Emma Lee Downs <--- name with the copyright symbol.
* A description of the song.
* A link to the song.
Example One:
<a href="yourmidname.mid">Click here to play music </a>
- Note: Replace "yourmidname.mid" with the song link.
Example Two: [youtub(e)]Your Music Video Goes Here[/youtub(e)]
- Note: You can use this code option for a music video. You must use the full link, not the short link. Take the parenthesis off of the (e) in the youtub(e) when you post the code so it reads youtube instead. I added it so the code would show up.
Example Three: [(video) src=""]
- Note: You can use this code option for a music video. You must use the full link, not the short link. Remove the parentheses from the (video) to make the code work. Insert the link between the two quotation marks (""). A video forum code works on most videos that are not YouTube but check with your video host and see if they have a specific code for forum posting. If they have a specific code, use that code instead.
Example Four: No code, just link.

- Note: When in doubt you can always just post the link to the song file or music video. If you have any questions about how to get your song file or music video to appear on the forum let the website admin lyraalluse know by sending her a private message.
* Note: All posts should have the "sticky" box checked to ensure that comments made to the original posts will not disrupt the placement of the original music links on the board.
Video Example:

5. Find the Signature section under Personal.
6. Place your name and the copyright symbol (ex.
© Emma Lee Downs) in the Signature box.

Now everything you post on the website will be copyrighted.
To get your work officially copyrighted (as recognized by the United States government), follow the instructions posted on the official U.S. Copyright Office website which can be found here: www.copyright.gov/.
*Note: Every time you place the copyright symbol next to your name and place it on a creative work, the work becomes copyrighted by you. This can hold up in most court battles. However, to make sure you are protected, even if you happen to be officially published by a music, art, writing, or video company, it is still wise to copyright you work via the official U.S. Copyright Office.
